Highly touted by White Sox manager Paul Richards, Kevin Bell proved a weak hitter and an average fielder. He hit an inside-the-park grand slam in Royals Stadium on June 22, 1976 as the leftfielder was knocked unconscious in a collision with the wall. In June 1977 a knee injury ended his season, and he never won a regular job. (RL)
