Puerto Rico-born Ayala homered in his first ML at bat (8/27/74) but didn't stick on a ML roster until the Orioles acquired him in 1979. One of the Orioles' role players, he hit 33 homers and had 120 RBI in only 692 Oriole at-bats. (MC)
