    Dec 4, 1998 - The Mets trade P Willie Blair to the Tigers in exchange for INF Joe Randa.

    Jul 31, 1998 - In a flurry of transactions at the trading deadline‚ many involving free agents-to-be‚ the Mets trade OF Bernard Gilkey‚ P Nelson Figueroa and cash to the Diamondbacks in exchange for P Willie Blair‚ C Jorge Fabregas and a player to be named. New York then obtains IF-OF Tony Phillips from the Blue Jays for P Leoncio Estrella‚ and sends the Brewers P Bill Pulsipher for IF Mike Kinkade.

    Dec 8, 1997 - The Diamondbacks sign free agent P Willie Blair to a 3-year contract.

    Jul 6, 1997 - In Detroit‚ the Tigers top the Orioles‚ 14-9‚ their 3rd straight win after 11 consecutive losses. Brian Johnson and Travis Fryman homer for the Tigers while teammate Bobby Higginson adds a two-run inside-the-park homer‚ his fifth round tripper this week. For Scott Erickson (11-4) it is the worst start of his career for Baltimore‚ allowing all 12 runs‚ 11 earned‚ and 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings. Willie Blair (6-4) takes the win in relief. The O's are led by Rafael Palmeiro's homer‚ triple and single and homers by Geronimo BerroaJeff Reboulet and Tony Tarasco.

    May 4, 1997 - Detroit P Willie Blair suffers a broken jaw when he's struck by a 107-mile-per-hour line drive off the bat of Cleveland's Julio Franco in the 6th inning of the Tigers' 2-0 victory. Blair still gets credit for the win.

    Jul 15, 1993 - Mike Morgan allows 5 hits in pitching his 1st complete game of the year‚ beating the Rockies‚ 1-0. Sammy Sosa singles‚ steals 2B‚ and Steve Buechele drives a single off Willie Blair to score Sosa. For the Rockies‚ it is the closest to a shutout they'll get this year.

    May 4, 1993 - The Cubs and Rockies combine for 38 hits in an 11-inning night game at Wrigley Field. The Rockies score 4 runs in the 11th‚ then hang on for a 14-13 win over the Cubs as Willie Blair allows the 3 runs‚ including a 2-out 2 run homer by Sammy Sosa‚ to card the victory. Sosa also hit a 2-out 3-run homer in the 9th‚ and has 5 hits for the game. The Rockies counter with back-to-back homers in the 5th by Girardi and Clark‚ Hayes homers in the 6th‚ and Jim Tatum hits his 1st ML homer in the 8th-a pinch hit grand slam.
