Reds, Astros pay tribute to Ruhle: The Reds paid tribute to former pitching coach Vern Ruhle prior to their series finale against the Astros on Thursday at Great American Ball Park. Ruhle, who spent 13 seasons in the big leagues, lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 20, 2007.

Friends, family pay tribute to Ruhle: Friends and family attended a funeral service in honor of Reds pitching coach Vern Ruhle, who died in January from cancer. It was an unconventional service at a Sarasota, Fla., church that the longtime coach and ballplayer would have appreciated.
