Ted, brother of pitcher Homer (Si) Blankenship, was a stalwart Texan with the mediocre
White Sox of the 1920s. In 1925, his best year, he was 17-8, and battled Grover Cleveland
Alexander to a 19-inning, 2-2 tie in the Chicago City Series. He broke a finger in
1926 (13-10, 3.61) and was never the same after that.
