Jul 18, 1954 - In his first ML start after 5 relief appearances Red Sox hurler Russ Kemmerer fires a one-hitter at the visiting Orioles to win 4-0. The only hit is Sam Mele's drive in the 7th that just misses being a HR. The Birds bounce back in the nitecap to win 4-1 behind Duane Pillette.
