The slim, 6'3" Christoper won in double figures three times, peaking with 14 victories for the 1944 A's. He pitched exclusively in relief in 1947-48, and his AL-leading 17 saves for Cleveland in his final year figured in the Indians' successful drive for the 1948 World Championship.
