    Aug 7, 2001 - The Braves defeat the Astros‚ 6-5‚ as Greg Maddux sets a NL record for consecutive innings without a walk. Maddux hurls 6 innings in the game to extend his streak to 70 1/3 frames without a free pass. The old mark of 68 innings was held by Christy Mathewson‚ in 1913‚ and Randy Jones‚ in 1976. Maddux leaves the game with the streak intact and is 14 IP away from the major league record‚ set by Bill Fischer in 1962.

    Jun 13, 1980 - Pete Rose goes 4-for-5 to move past Honus Wagner into 5th place on the all-time hit list with 3‚431. Philadelphia starts the game with 7 consecutive hits-5 off starter and loser Randy Jones-and goes on to beat San Diego 9-6. Dick Ruthvan is the winner.

Dave Parker hits a grand slam in the 8th to put the game away for Jim Rooker. Randy Jones loses his 20th as Houston edges the Padres‚ 3-2. Larry Howard hits a solo HR in the 7th to break a 2-2 tie and give the win to Tom Griffin (13-8).

    Apr 27, 1974 - Randy Jones and the Padres beat the Phillies‚ 5-2‚ despite giving up an inside-the-park homer to Mike Schmidt‚ the first of 3 in the future Hall of Famer's career.
