    Dec 29, 2002 - The Red Sox sign free agent P Ramiro Mendoza to a 2-year contract.

    Aug 14, 2002 - Two contests in the AL go 14 innings. Geronimo Gil hits a 2-out 14th inning homer to give Baltimore a 6-5 victory over Minnesota‚ while the Yankees overcome a straight steal of home by Mike Sweeney to beat the Royals‚ 3-2. Bernie Williams hits an RBI single to give Ramiro Mendoza (8-3) the win.

    Jul 24, 2001 - The Yankees edge the Tigers‚ 6-5‚ despite an 8th inning moon shot by Detroit's Juan Encarnacion‚ off Ramiro Mendoza‚ that lands in the 2nd row of the empty blue bleacher seats in left CF. It is believed to be the first ball hit into that area since Yankee Stadium was remodeled in 1976.

    Jul 6, 1997 - Roger Clemens becomes the American League's first 13-game winner‚ pitching a four-hitter as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees‚ 2-0. Clemens has 10 strikeouts and one walk in his first shutout of the year. Ramiro Mendoza takes the loss.
