Jones pitched mostly in relief for his nine ML seasons, with a top year of 12-7 for the 1926 Cubs. In 1928, he was the talk of the baseball world when he reportedly inherited $500,000. Three years later, while on the Columbus Redbirds roster, he fell from a third-story window and broke his back. He spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair. (BC)
