May 22, 1999 - Mo Vaughn's single in the 8th snaps a tie and rescues Steve Sparks wild knuckler as the Angels beat the Devil Rays 8-6. In the 3rd inning Sparks hits Paul Sorrento to load the bases then plunks the next 2 batters with a knuckler. He is the 4th pitcher to hit 3 batters in a row joining Houston's C.J. Nitkowski (1998) White Sox Wilbur Wood (1977) and Pittsburgh's Dock Ellis (1974). He also plunks Jose Canseco in the 1st inning to tie the ML mark for HBP. Sparks only allows 5 hits but walks 6 in addition to hitting 4.
Dec 8, 1997 - The Devil Rays sign free agent 1B Paul Sorrento to a 2-year contract. Tomorrow‚ they agree to terms with free agent 3B Wade Boggs.
Jun 25, 1997 - Seattle beats Oakland 9-4 with the help of homers by Paul Sorrento Edgar Martinez and backup C John Marzano his first since 1989. Oakland outhits the M's 12-11.

Apr 15, 1997 - Seattle 1B Paul Sorrento gets 5 hits including a pair of doubles and drives home 4 runs in the Mariners' 8-4 win over Cleveland to move 1 game ahead of the Athletics in the AL West.
Aug 18, 1996 - In a wild contest in New York the Mariners jump out to an 8-0 lead over the Yankees. The New Yorkers strike back with 7 runs in their half of the 4th inning to edge within 1. Seattle scores twice in the 6th but the Yankees ties the score in the bottom half of the inning with 3 runs of their own. The score remains tied at 10-10 going into the 12th inning. Seattle scores 3 in the top half of the inning 2 on 1B Paul Sorrento's 2nd homer of the game. New York fights back with 2 in the bottom of the inning but falls 1 shy losing 13-12. The Yankees remain 5 1/2 games ahead of Baltimore in the AL East while Seattle stays 6 games behind Texas in 2nd place in the AL West.
May 14, 1996 - Dwight Gooden on the verge of being dropped from the Yankees just two weeks ago twirls a no-hitter to sink the Mariners 2-0. Dr. No walks two in the 9th but retires Ken Griffey Jr. K's Jay Buhner and induces Paul Sorrento to pop out to end it. Gerald Williams saves the no-hitter when he runs down a 400-foot Alex Rodriguez liner in the first inning and turns it into a double play. Gooden (2-3) has now thrown 16 straight innings of hitless ball.
Jan 3, 1996 - The Mariners sign free agent 1B Paul Sorrento.
May 9, 1995 - The Indians score 8 runs before any outs are recorded in the 1st inning tying a major league record. Paul Sorrento Kenny Lofton and Carlos Baerga each hit HRs in the stanza as Cleveland goes on to a 10-0 victory behind Orel Hershiser and Paul Assenmacher.
Jul 15, 1994 - In the first inning at Comiskey Park Sox manager Gene Lamont accuses Indian slugger Albert Belle of using a corked bat and umpire Dave Phillips confiscates the bat and stores it in the ump's dressing room. In a Mission Impossible caper revealed in 1999 the Indians Jason Grimsley crawls 100 feet along a ceiling drops down into the dressing room and exchanges Belle's bat for one of Paul Sorrento's. After the 3-2 Indian's win the switch is discovered to the consternation of the umps and the White Sox. The Indians subsequently turn over one of Belle's bats and Belle is given a 10-day suspension later reduced to 7 games.
May 7, 1992 - The Indians commit around-the-horn errors in a 8-7 victory over the Rangers. 1B Paul Sorrento boots a ground ball 2B Carlos Baerga misses a pop-up SS Mark Lewis drops a throw and 3B Brook Jacoby boots another grounder.
