May 24, 1892 - Brooklyn makes good use of its 14 hits in a 24-4 rout of the Washington Senators. Oyster Burns typifies his club's attack by scoring 4 runs without the benefit of a hit.
Aug 1, 1890 - Oyster Burns becomes the first Brooklyn player to hit for the cycle when he collects 4 hits in the 2nd game of a twin bill with Pittsburgh. The game is called after 7 1/3 innings with Brooklyn on the front end of 20-1 score.
Oct 23, 1889 - In a 6-inning game delayed by arguments the Giants tie the score with a 5-run top of the 6th only to see the Grooms win it in the bottom 10-7 on a 3-run HR by Oyster Burns. New York's Jesse Burkett walks 13. Brooklyn leads the series three games to one.
