Highly skilled defensively, Tresh was durable enough to catch all 150 White Sox games in 1945. He had caught 115 or more games each year from 1939 through 1941, batting a high of .281 in 1940. His son Tom, who unlike his father was a power hitter, was an infielder-outfielder with the Yankees and Tigers. (JK)
