May 28, 1971 - The Braves Clete Boyer involved in a dispute with owner Paul Richards and manager Lum Harris over alleged silly rules and mismanagement gets his release and retires (he'll later play in Japan). Boyer had hit safely in the last 9 games of his career including 5 HRs and 14 RBIs.
May 29, 1969 - With the Braves drubbing the Mets 12-0 manager Lum Harris lifts Hank Aaron for another Lum-Mike Lum. Lum hits a pinch double off Al Jackson and takes over in LF as the Braves coast to a 15-3 win. It is the 3rd time in his career that Aaron has been lifted for a pinch hitter.
Oct 7, 1967 - Lum Harris is named manager of the Braves.
Dec 12, 1965 - Roy Hofheinz fires manager Lum Harris (65-97). Grady Hatton takes over the Astros.
Sep 19, 1964 - The Colt 45s drop Harry Craft (61-88) as manager. He is replaced by Lum Harris.
Oct 10, 1961 - Billy Hitchcock takes the place of Lum Harris (17-10) as manager of the Orioles.
Sep 1, 1961 - Paul Richards (38-57) resigns as manager of the Orioles to become GM of the new Houston NL club. Coach Lum Harris takes over.
