Aug 21, 1957 - In the Tigers 9-3 loss to the Orioles Detroit pitcher Lou Sleater hits a solo homer in what will be his only at bat for Detroit this year. Sleater had 3 homers last year.
May 30, 1957 - Before a crowd of 40944 at Briggs Stadium the Tigers sweep a pair from the A's winning 6-5 and 3-2. Pitcher Lou Sleater wins the opener with his first ML homer a game-ending homer off Burnette. Kuenn opened with a HR but homers by Gus Zernial and Mickey McDermott gave the A's a 5-3 lead going into the 9th. Bolling has a pair of homers in the nitecap.
Aug 17, 1956 - Detroit pitcher Lou Sleater hits his 3rd homer of the year a 3-run shot in a 9-8 win over the White Sox in 10 innings.
Apr 28, 1955 - The Kansas City Athletics sign P Vic Raschi who has just been released by the Cardinals. The Athletics purchase P Lou Sleater from the Yankees for cash. Neither pitcher is any help today as New York thrashes the A's 11-4 at Municipal Stadium. Mantle hits a homer for the 5th run off losing pitcher Charlie Bishop.
Jul 31, 1951 - The Browns acquire Cliff Mapes from the Yankees sending Bobbie Hogue Kermit Wahl Tom Upton and Lou Sleater to New York. The trade frees up an outfield spot for Mantle's return as well as Mapes #7 uniform.
