An early product of the Cardinals farm system, Bell led the American Association in BA in 1924 as a shortstop. Switched to third base, he helped the Cardinals win their first pennant in 1926 (.325, 17 HR, 100 RBI). With the Braves in 1928, he hit three homers and a triple in a single game. (JK)
