Jun 2, 1928 - St. Mary's College football star Larry Bettencourt breaks in at 3B with the Browns in a 5-2 win over the Senators. A future member of the College Football Hall of Fame Bettencourt was an All-American center who will later play for the Green Bay Packers. The $6000 bonus he receives is a record for a rookie just out of school.
