    Cubs rally to snap Dodgers' four-game winning streak: Koyie Hill homered and Kosuke Fukudome hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the seventh inning Friday, rallying the Chicago Cubs over the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1. Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly (6-4) and the Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (6-3) each opened with six scoreless innings.

    With a desperate rally in the rain, Carlos Beltran and the New York Mets kept their playoff destiny in their own hands. Beltran singled home the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning and New York beat the Chicago Cubs 7-6 on Thursday night for a huge win that halted its late-season slide. "I was going to the plate thinking I have to come through," Beltran said.

    The Brewers showed why they're in first and have been for most of the season. Milwaukee bounced back quickly from a tough loss the day before, jumping on the Chicago Cubs early and not letting up Saturday in a 13-4 victory. Ben Sheets won his 10th game, and Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer and went 4-for-5 with four RBIs.

Fontenot hit a tiebreaking two-run single with two outs in the fifth inning to back Marshall and lift the Cubs to a 3-2 victory over the Mariners and even the Interleague series.

    Carlos Zambrano delivered with his pitches and his bat. Then he delivered this message: "Big Z is back on track," he said. Looking more like the NL All-Star he was last season than the erratic pitcher who got into a fight with his catcher, Michael Barrett, 10 days before, Zambrano had one of his strongest outings against a favorite opponent Monday night.
