Apr 14, 2006 - Kevin Millwood of the Rangers tops Barry Zito of the A's as both go 7 innings in the 6-3 Texas win. Frank Thomas of the A's hits his 200th HR as a DH to join Babe Ruth and Ernie Banks as the only big-leaguers to hit 200 or more homers at two different positions. Ruth hit 357 as a right fielder and 313 as a left fielder, Banks hit 210 as a first baseman and 277 as a shortstop. Thomas hit 249 as a first baseman.
Dec 26, 2005 - The Rangers sign free agent P Kevin Millwood‚ who pitched for the Indians last year‚ to a 5 year‚ $60 million contract.

Oct 5, 2001 - The Braves clinch their 10th straight division championship with a 20-3 rout of the Marlins. Kevin Millwood gives up a field goal in the 1st inning but the Braves score 10 runs in the bottom of the frame. Ryan Dempster allows just one hit but walks 6 before leaving in the 1st. Reliever Benito Baez gives up 8 runs in 1 2/3 IP and OF John Mabry tries his hand in the 9th but gives up 5 runs while recording just one out. Chipper Jones has a triple and grand slam and reaches the 100 RBI mark for the 6th straight year.
Jun 7, 2000 - At Atlanta Carlos Delgado has 6 RBI and 2 homers including a grand slam to pace the Blue Jays to a 12-8 win. Kevin Millwood takes the loss. Blue Jays rookie pitcher Clayton Andrews bloops an apparent single to right for his first ML hit but Brian Jordan playing very shallow throws him out at first. Jordan will throw out 3 runners at 1B this year.
Oct 24, 1999 - The Yankees defeat Braves 7-2 to take a 2-games-to-0 lead in the Series. David Cone holds Atlanta to one hit and no runs in 7 innings. Bernie Williams gets 3 hits for NY while 5 of his teammates get 2 apiece. Braves' starter Kevin Millwood gets battered for 8 hits and 5 runs (4 earned) in 2 innings of work.
Oct 13, 1999 - Atlanta takes a 2-game lead over NY in the NLCS with a 4-3 victory. The Braves score all 4 of their runs in the 6th inning on a pair of HRs by Brian Jordan and Eddie Perez off Mets starter Kenny Rogers. Jun 3, 1993 - Seattle selects SS Alex Rodriguez of Westminster Christian HS in Miami with the 1st pick in the amateur draft. Rodriguez hit .417 with 17 homers and 90 stolen bases. The Tigers picking 9th take speedster Matt Brunson who will steal 106 bases in 329 A-level minor league games: impressive considering he will hit just .200. The Brewers get pitchers Jeff D'Amico and Kelly Wunsch with two 1st round picks. Both will prove injury prone but they do take SS Mark Loretta on the 7th round. The Phils take Scott Rolen on the 2nd round; the Braves select Kevin Millwood (11th) and John Rocker (18th) while the Indians take Richie Sexson (24th). The Dodgers pick Wichita State pitcher Darren Dreifort who will skip the minor leagues and debut on April 7 1994.
