    Kevin Maas from the Chronology

Oct 7, 2001 - The Giants beat the Dodgers‚ 2-1‚ as Barry Bonds extends his ML record with his 73rd HR of the season. He will finish the year with a slugging percentage of .863 to break Babe Ruth's all-time single-season record. Bonds will have 411 total bases‚ 3rd in the NL behind Gonzalez and Sosa. He also is the only player besides Kevin Maas to have more than 20 homers and not double his home run total in RBI. (Maas had 21 HR‚ 41 RBI‚ in 1991)

Jun 11, 1993 - The Yankees-Brewers game at County Stadium is interrupted by some 100 sea gulls who swoop down onto the field‚ apparently in search of moths hatching in the infield and outfield grass. The Yankees eventually win the game by a score of 5-4‚ winning in the 9th on a two-run pinch homer by Kevin Maas. While no players or seagulls are hurt‚ Wade Boggs called the situation "terribly dangerous. The seagulls will return for tomorrow night's game‚ but the Brewers will be prepared for the birds. Gus the wonder dog‚ on loan from the Wisconsin waterfowl association‚ will keep them away.

Jul 24, 1991 - In a game against the Mariners‚ the Yankees score 3 runs on a ground ball hit back to the pitcher. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the 4th‚ Pat Kelly hits a comebacker to Erik Hanson. The Seattle hurler traps Kevin Maas in a rundown between 3rd and home‚ but Maas scores when 3B Edgar Martinez's throw hits him in the back. The ball rolls up the 1st base line in foul territory where it is recovered by C Dave Cochrane. Cochrane throws home to head off Alvaro Espinoza who is also attempting to score. The throw goes into the Mariners' dugout allowing Espinoza and Kelly to cross the plate with the 2nd and 3rd runs.

Jun 29, 1991 - The visiting Yankees score 3 in the 9th off Dan Plesac to beat Milwaukee‚ 9-8. Kevin Maas and Jess Barfield homer for the Bombers. Teddy Higuera (3-2)‚ in the first year of a $13 million‚ 4-year contract pitches 7 innings‚ allowing 3 runs. Higuera‚ who started the year on the DL‚ will go on the DL again when a significant tear to his rotary cuff is discovered. This is his last ML appearance.

May 5, 1991 - Kevin Maas of the Yankees homers in the top of the 16th to give New York a 4-3 lead over the Mariners. Greg Briley answers with a 2-run game ending HR to give the M's a 5-4 win.

Oct 3, 1990 - Cecil Fielder becomes the 11th player ever to hit 50 HRs when he belts his 50th and 51st in the Tigers' season finale‚ a 10-3 win over New York. He is the first AL player since 1961 to reach the 50 mark. Kevin Maas and Gary Ward also homer as Jack Morris (15-18) is the winner. Maas ends the season with 21 homers and 41 RBI‚ the only player‚ till Barry Bonds in 2001 to not double his homer total in RBI.

Aug 2, 1990 - Yankees rookie Kevin Maas hits his 10th HR in just 77 at bats‚ the fastest any player has ever reached that mark. But the Yanks lose to Detroit 6-5 in 11 innings.
