    Ken Hubbs


    The 1962 NL Rookie of the Year set a major-league record with 78 consecutive errorless games. He handled 418 chances over that stretch, also a record. "Hubbs of the Cubs" was the first rookie to win a Gold Glove, and also set a National League record with 661 at-bats. Hubbs died in February 1964, when a private plane he was piloting crashed in Utah. (DS)
