The 6'4" Drews came through the Yankee organization slowly, and was 6-6 for the 1947 world champs. When he unexpectedly won 14 for the Phillies in 1952, including five shutouts, his 2.72 ERA was by far his best. Brother Roy was a catcher in the Giants' organization. (RTM)
