Johnny Nee

Nee was a player-manager in the minor leagues at Terre Haute in 1912 at the age of 22, and managed in the minors until 1926, when he joined the Yankees' scouting staff. He remained with the Yankees until 1946, when he began a decade as the Phillies' chief scout. He was an unsuccessful candidate for governor of Missouri in 1949. (FVP)
