    Feb 8, 1942 - At California's Folsom prison‚ the annual game between major leaguers and the prison team is stopped when it's discovered that two prisoners have escaped. With the pros leading 24-5 at the end of 7 innings‚ the game ends and guards go after the two lifers‚ who are found 3 hours later. The major leaguers include Ernie LombardiErnie BonhamGus SuhrJoe Marty‚ and Johnny Babich.

    Jun 28, 1941 - DiMaggio has two hits and a walk off Johnny Babich of the A's‚ to extend his streak to 40 games‚ second longest in the AL. New York wins‚ 7-4‚ as Keller homers‚ the 23rd game in a row the Yanks have gone deep. The 2nd-place Yankees will win their next 13 games.

    Sep 27, 1940 - In New York‚ the Yankees‚ winners of 8 straight games‚ lose to the A's Johnny Babich‚ 6-2. Babich is a former Yankee minor leaguer. New York is out of the World Series for the 1st time since 1935. Chicago scores 5 in the 2nd and 8 in the 6th in outhitting Brooklyn 18 hits to 15. Johnny Babich starts and goes a third of an inning to take the loss; Starter Charlie Root is the Chicago winner.
