The Braves gave up $50,000 in cash and players for Welsh after he hit .350 for Seattle (Pacific Coast League). As Boston's right fielder, Welsh led NL outfielders in assists in 1925 and 1926. He went to the Giants in a 1928 trade for Rogers Hornsby but was returned to Boston in 1929. (NLM)
