Jimmy Rollins from the Chronology
Apr 6, 2006 - The Phillies lose their 3rd straight game to the Cardinals, 4-2, and Jimmy Rollins loses his 38-game hitting streak as he is held hitless in 4 ABs. Rollins hit .379 (64-for-169) during his two-season streak and fell just 7 games short of the all-time record of 45 held by Willie Keeler. "Wee Willie" got a hit in the final game of the 1896 season then posted at least one safety in 44 straight games to begin 1897. Rollins joins Vada Pinson (31 games 1965-66), Ron LeFlore (31 games 1975-76) and Hal Morris (32 games 1996-97) as the only players since 1960 with 30-gamers over two years.
Sep 9, 2004 - The Phillies get homers from their first two batters Jimmy Rollins and Placido Polanco leading off the game and go on to beat the Braves 9-4. Lieberthal and Burrell add homers to back Ryan Madosn (9-2).
May 17, 2002 - Erubiel Durazo hits 3 HRs and a double and drives in 9 runs for the Diamondbacks as Arizona downs Philadelphia 12-9. It is Durazo's 2nd game of the season after spending six weeks on the DL with a broken right hamate bone. Phillies 2B Marlon Anderson strokes 5 hits including a double and Jimmy Rollins hits a leadoff homerun. He will hit another leadoff HR tomorrow.
Aug 26, 2001 - The Diamondbacks score in the 10th inning to defeat the Phillies 4-3. Philadelphia rookie SS Jimmy Rollins is caught stealing in the 3rd inning the first time in his career after a streak of 35 consecutive steals. Luis Gonzalez receives the ultimate compliment when the Phils give him an intentional walk with the bases empty. According to the Elias Sports Bureau Gonzalez joins Manny Ramirez Jason Giambi Mike Piazza and Jim Thome as the only players to receive an intentional pass with the bases empty this season. Ramirez is the only one of the group to have been walked intentionally twice this year with no ducks on the pond.
