    Oct 23, 1991 - The Braves even the Series at 2 games apiece with a 3-2 win in Game 4. Journeyman catcher Jerry Willard's sac fly in the bottom of the 9th is the deciding blow. Terry Pendleton and Lonnie Smith stroke solo homers for the NLers‚ while Mike Pagliarulo does the same for the Twins.

    Oct 1, 1986 - With three-run homers from Jerry Willard and Terry Steinbach and a solo shot by Dave Kingman, the Oakland Athletics beats the Texas Rangers, 9-7. For Kingman, the blast is his 35th of the season and sets a record for most home runs by a player in his final major league season.

    Dec 9, 1982 - The Phillies trade 2B Manny Trillo‚ OF George Vukovich‚ SS Julio Franco‚ catcher Jerry Willard‚ and pitcher Jay Baller to the Indians for 24-year-old OF Von Hayes. Hayes hit .250 with 14 HRs and 32 SBs for Cleveland last season and is considered a potential star.
