    Jeff Treadway

Treadway hit .333 at the end of 1987, when he replaced Ron Oester at second base after Oester suffered a career-threatening injury. He dropped off to .252 in 1988, and near the end of the year Oester won his job back.

Sold to the Atlanta Braves in 1989, Treadway took over the starting 2B job when the team decided to move the erratic-fielding Ron Gant to the outfield. He held the job for the better part of three years, before finally losing it to Mark Lemke in 1992. A steady hitter throughout most of his career, Treadway finished his major league tenure with a .281 batting average. (JFC/GL)
