    Jason Marquis

With his 98 MPH heater, wicked slider and knee-buckling curveball, Marquis appeared to be the next young gun out of the Atlanta Braves organization. He struggled in his 2000 stint with the Braves, posting a 5.01 ERA in 15 games, but his second run, in 2001, included several solid relief outings before moving to the rotation to replace the injured Kevin Millwood. His 5-6 record belied the effectiveness of his outings which included 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball against Barry Bonds' San Francisco Giants on August 13 and a 13-strikeout performance against the Milwaukee Brewers on August 3.
