    Jack McCarthy


    McCarthy led the 1901 Cleveland Blues (later the Indians) with a .321 batting average. With the Cubs on April 26, 1905, he became the only NL outfielder ever to start three double plays in a game, throwing out three Pirates at the plate. (DAS)
