Oct 10, 2006 - The Tigers down the Athletics, 5-1, to take the opening game of the ALCS. Nate Robertson gets the victory, and Ivan Rodriguez and Brandon Inge hit HRs for Detroit.

Jul 11, 2005 - Bobby Abreu wins the All-Star Home Run Derby by clouting a record 41 round-trippers. Ivan Rodriguez finishes 2nd in the contest.

Feb 14, 2005 - Juiced: Wild Times‚ Rampant 'Roids‚ Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big‚ by former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco‚ is published. In the book‚ Canseco says he injected Mark McGwire‚ and introduced Ivan Rodriguez‚ Juan Gonzalez‚ Rafael Palmeiro‚ and Jason Giambi to steroids. All those named deny the accusations.
