Nov 2, 2006 - The AL Gold Glove winners are announced. Ivan Rodriguez wins his 12th award, extending his record for Cs. OFs Ichiro Suzuki and Torii Hunter and 3B Eric Chavez each win for the 6th straight season.
Oct 10, 2006 - The Tigers down the Athletics, 5-1, to take the opening game of the ALCS. Nate Robertson gets the victory, and Ivan Rodriguez and Brandon Inge hit HRs for Detroit.
Apr 29, 2006 - The Tigers pound out 23 hits as they maul the Twins, 18-1. Justin Verlander is the easy winner as batterymate Pudge Rodriguez has 4 hits and Carlos Guillen has 2 homers and 5 RBI.
Apr 5, 2006 - The Tigers defeat the Royals, 14-3. C Ivan Rodriguez leads the Detroit attack with 5 hits, including 3 doubles and a HR, while CF Curtis Granderson adds a HR. Tiger P Jeremy Bonderman allows a run in 6 2/3 IP. The Tigers will win again tomorrow and set a record for the most homeruns (15) in the first three games of a season.
Aug 20, 2005 - The Tigers edge the Blue Jays 3-2 when Magglio Ordonez hits an RBI double in the bottom of the 13th. Franklyn German (4-0) earns the win. Craig Monroe and Ivan Rodriguez hit solo HRs for the Bengals. Detroit turns 3 DPS including a rare double play in the 6th on a sacrifice fly just the third time this century that two outfield assists are recorded on the same play. On Frank Catalanotto's sac fly to CF Frank Menachino on 2B attempts to reach 3B and is caught (8-2-5-6-7-4).
Jul 11, 2005 - Bobby Abreu wins the All-Star Home Run Derby by clouting a record 41 round-trippers. Ivan Rodriguez finishes 2nd in the contest.
Feb 14, 2005 - Juiced: Wild Times Rampant 'Roids Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big by former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco is published. In the book Canseco says he injected Mark McGwire and introduced Ivan Rodriguez Juan Gonzalez Rafael Palmeiro and Jason Giambi to steroids. All those named deny the accusations.
Feb 2, 2004 - The Tigers sign free agent C Ivan Rodriguez to a 4-yr. contract.
Oct 15, 2003 - The Marlins complete a stunning comeback by defeating the Cubs 9-6 to win their 3rd straight game and the NLCS. HRs by Kerry Wood and Moises Alou give Chicago a 5-3 lead but Florida bounces back to take the lead on Luis Castillo's RBI single in the 6th. Miguel Cabrera hits a 3-run homer for the Marlins. Ivan Rodriguez is named the NLCS Most Valuable Player.
Oct 12, 2003 - The Marlins stave off elimination with a 4-0 win over the Cubs in the NLCS. Josh Beckett dominates Chicago with a 2-hitter while Mike Lowell Ivan Rodriguez and Jeff Conine all homer for Florida.
Oct 3, 2003 - The Marlins down the Giants 4-3 to take a 2-games-to-1 lead in their Division Series. Ivan Rodriguez's 2-run single in the 11th inning is the game-winner. Rodriguez also hits a 2-run HR.
Jun 16, 2003 - The Marlins squeak by the Mets 1-0 as rookie Dontrelle Willis hurls a 1-hitter. Ty Wigginton's 4th inning single is NY's only hit as Willis hurls the first complete game of his career in his 8th big league start. Ivan Rodriguez's HR accounts for the only run of the contest.
Apr 8, 2003 - In a 4-2 loss to the Mets‚ Marlins C Ivan Rodriguez ties the modern NL record with 5 walks in a 9-inning game. The last player to accomplish this was Vince Coleman‚ who like Rodriguez‚ had walkaphobia during his career. The Mets allow 7 walks as Al Leiter (2-0) gets the victory.

Nov 6, 2001 - Gold Glove award winners are announced. Ivan Rodriguez wins his 10th straight to tie Johnny Bench for the most by a catcher Greg Maddux wins his 12th straight to extend his NL record for pitchers and Roberto Alomar wins for the 10th time the most ever for a 2B.
Aug 18, 2001 - The Rangers pound the Blue Jays 12-5 scoring 8 runs in the 9th inning. C Ivan Rodriguez's grand slam is the big blow for Texas.
Jul 24, 2000 - The Angels defeat the Rangers 6-5 in 12 innings. Texas also loses C Ivan Rodriguez who breaks his thumb on Mo Vaughn's bat while attempting to throw out a runner. He will miss the remainder of the season. Angels Darin Erstadt ties the AL mark for extra-inning game with 12 putouts by a left fielder last tied by Rickey Henderson in 1988.
Apr 3, 2000 - In their opener‚ the Texas Rangers defeat the Chicago White Sox‚ 10-4‚ as OF Gabe Kapler becomes the first player to homer in his first two at-bats as a Ranger. Catcher Ivan Rodriguez also hits two homers for Texas before the largest regular-season crowd in the team's history. Ranger starter Kenny Rogers ties Frank Viola for third place in consecutive home wins with the victory over Mike Sirotka. Rogers has won 19 consecutive home games and hasn't lost on his own turf since June 28‚ 1997‚ a span of 1‚012 days (through April 4). Ray Kremer of the Pittsburgh Pirates holds the record of 22 consecutive home wins set in 1926-27: Lefty Grove of Boston (1938-41) is 2nd with 20 straight home wins.

All of Rodriguez's RBIs come on a 3-run HR in the 1st inning a 2-run single in the 2nd and a grand slam in the 3rd. Mike Morgan picks up the win in relief. It is his 1st victory over the Mariners since August 4 1979. The 19 years 8 months and 9 days is the longest a pitcher has ever gone between victories against one team.
Aug 28, 1998 - Juan Gonzalez Will Clark and Ivan Rodriguez hit successive HRs in the 4th inning of the Rangers' 6-5 win over the White Sox in the 1st game of a twinbill. Chicago takes the nightcap 8-7 as the 2 teams combine to hit 14 HRs in the doubleheader to tie an AL record.
Jun 23, 1998 - Texas scores 11 runs in the 5th inning of their game against Arizona and goes on to a 16-5 victory. Roberto Kelly and Ivan Rodriguez each get 4 of the Rangers' 19 hits.

Jul 29, 1997 - The Rangers ship Ken Hill 16-10 last year to the Angels for C Jim Leyritz and a player to be named. Hill struggled to a 5-8 record this season. Leyritz is insurance in case the Rangers can't sign Ivan Rodriguez but they will ink Pudge in 2 days to a 5-year deal worth $42 million.

Rusty Greer Mike Pagliarulo Shawn Hare and Ivan Rodriguez all come through with singles as the Rangers cut the lead to 8-7. Texas almost wins it in the 9th when they load the bases but out of position players P Bob Tewksbury strikes out as a pinch hitter. Greer wins it in the 10th with a leadoff homer. The win keeps the Rangers within 1/2 game of the Angels in the race for the AL West lead.
Sep 4, 1992 - Yankees OF Roberto Kelly ties a major league record by reaching base on catcher's interference for the 7th time this year. Pittsburgh's Dale Berra set the mark in 1983. Texas C Ivan Rodriguez is the latest victim of Kelly in New York's 6-3 victory.
