    Harry Hempstead


    The son-in-law of John T. Brush, Hempstead took over the Giants in 1912 when Brush died, and ran the club until 1919, winning three pennants. He then sold the team to Charles A. Stoneham. A graduate of Lafayette, Hempstead had been president of an Indianapolis clothing store when he inherited the Giants. (NLM)
