May 27, 1987 - Greg Gross joins 1987's record-setting HR parade with his first home run since 1978‚ a 2-run shot in the top of the 8th that sparks the Phillies to a 6-4 win over San Diego. An all-time record 4‚458 home runs will be hit in the major leagues this season.

Feb 23, 1979 - The Phillies trade 5 players to the Cubs for 2B Manny Trillo‚ OF Greg Gross‚ and C Dave Rader. Chicago gets Barry Foote‚ Jerry Martin‚ Ted Sizemore‚ and 2 minor leaguers.
