Nov 3, 2006 - The NL Gold Glove winners are announced. P Greg Maddux wins his 16th award, tying the record shared by P Jim Kaat and 3B Brooks Robinson. SS Omar Vizquel wins his 11th award, while OF Andruw Jones wins his 9th in a row.
Nov 2, 2006 - The AL Gold Glove winners are announced. Ivan Rodriguez wins his 12th award, extending his record for Cs. OFs Ichiro Suzuki and Torii Hunter and 3B Eric Chavez each win for the 6th straight season.
Nov 2, 2005 - SS Omar Vizquel wins his 10th Gold Glove Award as the winners for the NL are announced. At age 38 he becomes the oldest middle IF ever cited. P Greg Maddux of the Cubs wins his 15th award while OFs Jim Edmonds and Andruw Jones each wins his 8th.
Nov 1, 2005 - Outfielders Ichiro Suzuki and Torii Hunter and 3B Eric Chavez each wins his 5th consecutive Gold Glove Award as the winners are announced for the AL.
Nov 5, 2003 - Atlanta OF Andruw Jones wins his 6th straight Gold Glove Award as the NL awards are announced. St. Louis OF Jim Edmonds also wins for the 6th time.

Nov 6, 2001 - Gold Glove award winners are announced. Ivan Rodriguez wins his 10th straight to tie Johnny Bench for the most by a catcher Greg Maddux wins his 12th straight to extend his NL record for pitchers and Roberto Alomar wins for the 10th time the most ever for a 2B.
Dec 9, 1992 - The Braves sign free agent Cy Young and Gold Glove winner Greg Maddux to a 5-year contract‚ and then trade pitchers Charlie Leibrandt and Pat Gomez to the Rangers in exchange for 3B Jose Oliva. Leibrandt (15-7) saw his star fall in Atlanta when he gave up 11th-inning extra base hits in the 1992 WS and the 1991 NLCS. Maddux‚ who turned down a $28.5 million contract extension in mid-season with the Cubs‚ signs for $28 million‚ $6 million less than the Yankees offered.

Nov 21, 1970 - TSN announces the Gold Glove selections. White Sox SS Luis Aparicio wins the 9th and final honor of his career‚ while Mets OF Tommie Agee becomes the first non P to win it in each league. Aparicio has now won a gold glove in the 50s‚ 60s‚ and 70s.
Dec 3, 1969 - In what is rated their best trade ever‚ the Royals send 3B Joe Foy to the Mets for OF Amos Otis and P Bob Johnson. Foy will not solve the Mets' 3B problems‚ while Otis will spend 14 years in Kansas City‚ win 3 Gold Gloves‚ and lead the AL in stolen bases once.
