But Eddie Miksis hits the first pitch in the 10th for a catwalk HR to left to give the Cubs and Jim Davis the 5-4 win. The loser is Davis's uncle Marv Grissom. The two teams combine for 9 errors.

Pafko hits his 13th homer in a losing cause and will incur an injury in this series that will sideline for three weeks in July. But the New York Post expresses the sentiment of most‚ calling it "the most barefaced swindle in years."
