In 1935 a line drive by the Yankees' Jesse Hill rebounded off Linke's head to catcher Jack Redmond on the fly, and Ben Chapman was caught off second base for a rally-killing double play. Linke was hospitalized for three days but returned to win his next eight starts. (JK)
