May 4, 2006 - The Angels beat the Tigers, 7-2. Rookie C Mike Napoli hits a homer in his 1st ML at bat for LA, becoming the 92nd player to accomplish the feat. Don Rose and Dave Machemer are the only other Angels to turn the trick.

Jun 4, 2000 - At Shea‚ the Devil Rays defeat the Mets‚ 15-5. SS Felix Martinez and P Esteban Yan hit their 1st career homers on consecutive pitches from Bobby Jones in the 2nd inning. Yan's HR is on the 1st pitch he sees in his 1st major league at bat. He's the 77th MLer to hit a HR on his 1st at bat‚ and just the 4th AL pitcher. The last AL pitcher was California's Don Rose‚ in 1972.

May 24, 1972 - California P Don Rose homers on the first pitch in his first ML at bat‚ and earns a 6-5 victory over the A's and Vida Blue‚ who is making his first appearance of the season for Oakland after holding out. For Rose‚ it will be his only ML HR‚ as well as his only win. It'll be 30 years before another AL pitcher hits a homer on his first at bat.
