Jul 4, 1885 - An exhibition between 2 old-time clubs is played at the Polo Grounds; the Old Mutual Nine (with pitcher Reno Walters) beats the Old Eckford club (with OF Dave Eggler and 1B Andy Allison) 25-17.

May 8, 1879 - Buffalo nips Providence‚ 3-2. In the top of the 9th‚ CF Dave Eggler cannily juggles a fly ball and is able to force the speedy John Ward out at 3B. In the bottom of the inning‚ the Bisons score the winning run on throwing errors by Grays catcher Jim O'Rourke.

May 17, 1873 - In Philadelphia‚ Athletics P Dick McBride holds the Mutuals to 2 hits‚ both by Dave Eggler‚ and wins 12-0.
