Jul 31, 2006 - The Pirates also send P Kip Wells to the Rangers for P Jesse Chavez, and trade OF/1B Craig Wilson to the Yankees for P Shawn Chacon.
May 28, 2004 - Rob Mackowiak of the Pittsburgh Pirates has a day to remember. In the morning‚ his wife gives birth to his first son. Later that day‚ his walk-off grand slam in the 9th inning offsets an eight-inning grand slam by Michael Barrett and gives the Pirates a 9-5 win over the Chicago Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game‚ Mackowiak hits a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 9th to tie the score. Pittsburgh goes on to win the game in the 10th‚ 5-4‚ on Craig Wilson's homer. It is just the 3rd time in history that a doubleheader has ended with two walkoff homers: the other times were July 25‚ 1967 and May 12‚ 1962.
Sep 25, 2001 - The Pirates rout the Cubs 13-1. SS Craig Wilson after getting hits in each of the final 3 innings of Pittsburgh's last game gets hits in each of the first 3 innings against Chicago giving him hits in 6 consecutive innings against 6 different pitchers a ML mark. Cubs pitchers fan 10 Pirates giving them 1250 Ks for the year for a new ML mark.
Sep 24, 2001 - Pittsburgh rookie Craig Wilson ties the ML record for PH HRs in a season by hitting his 7th in the Pirates' 7-6 win over the Cubs. Dave Hansen of the Dodgers set the mark last season.
Sep 14, 1998 - In another pitchers duel the White Sox score twice in the 12th inning then hold on for a 17-16 win over the Tigers. The teams combine for 41 hits including 5 each for Albert Belle of the Sox and rookie OF Juan Encarnacion of the Bengals. Encarnacion also score 5 runs while driving home 4. Belle and SS Craig Wilson bring home 5 each for Chicago.
Feb 12, 1993 - The Royals trade IF Gregg Jefferies and minor league OF Ed Gerald to the Cardinals in exchange for OF Felix Jose and IF-OF Craig Wilson.
