At Ebbets Field Mort Cooper wearing Coaker Triplett's #20 uniform scatters 3 hits to shut out the Dodgers 3-0 and become the year's first 20-game winner. The shutout is his 8th of the year. The Cardinals now just a game in back of Brooklyn order World Series tickets to be printed.
