Fraser was a hawk-nosed pitcher who threw a no-hitter in 1903 for the Phillies. He
twice won 20 games, but he also led his league in walks three times. He became a
coach with masterful control of the fungo bat. Fraser was the brother-in-law of Hall
of Famer
Fred Clarke; while with Louisville, the two had taken sisters as brides.
They were reunited in Pittsburgh when Clarke signed Fraser as a scout. Fraser later
scouted for the Dodgers and Yankees.
