Lundgren was a starting pitcher on three successive Cub pennant winners (1906-08),
but despite going 17-6 (2.21) in 1906 and 18-7 (1.17) in 1907, he was never used
in a World Series; always, there were even better pitchers ahead of him. He later
replaced
Branch Rickey as baseball coach at the University of Michigan.
