    May 22, 2006 - The Dodgers defeat the Rockies, 6-1. LA’s Jae Seo and Colorado’s Byung-Hyun Kim become the first Korean-born starting pitchers to meet in a ML game.

    Aug 8, 2005 - The Rockies and Marlins play a doubleheader‚ necessitated by a snowout on April 27 and 28. The Rockies start two Kims‚ Sunny and Byung-Hyun Kim and win 4-3 and 5-3. Sunny Kim was picked up on waivers August 5 from the Nationals. Game 1 is won in the 11th on Dustan Mohr's walk off homer with two out. In the second game Byung-Hyun pitches 7 strong inning for the win. Danny Ardoin hits a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 6th for the lead. The last time two pitchers with the same name started in a doubleheader was in 1974‚ when the Cleveland Indians started brothers Gaylord and Jim Perry against the Boston Red Sox.

    Mar 30, 2005 - The Rockies obtain P Byung-Hyun Kim from the Red Sox in exchange for P Chris Narveson‚ C Charles Johnson‚ and cash.

    Jun 27, 2002 - Gregg Zaun turns a 3-4 Houston deficit into a 7-4 win with a pinch grand slam in the 9th off Arizona's Byung-Hyun Kim.

    Nov 1, 2001 - In an amazing case of history repeating itself‚ the Yankees again come from 2 runs down with 2 outs in the 9th inning to defeat the Diamondbacks‚ 3-2 in 12 innings. Byung-Hyun Kim is again victimized‚ this time by Scott Brosius' 2-run HR in the 9th. Alfonso Soriano's single wins it in the 12th. Steve Finley and Rod Barajas homer in the 5th for Arizona's runs.

    Oct 31, 2001 - In a thrilling contest‚ the Yankees defeat the Diamondbacks‚ 4-3 in 10 innings‚ to tie the Series at 2 games apiece. Tino Martinez's 2-out‚ 2-run HR in the bottom of the 9th ties the game‚ and Derek Jeter's blast in the bottom of the 10th wins it for New York. Both homers come off Byung-Hyun Kim who relieved Curt Schilling in the 8th inning. Mariano Rivera gets the win in relief for the Yankees.

    Sep 2, 2001 - Ryan Klesko hits a game ending HR in the 13th inning to give the Dodgers a 1-0 win over the D'Backs. The loser is Byung-Hyun Kim. It is the 2nd time that Kim has ended a 1-0 game with a homer to the only batter he faces.

    May 18, 2001 - The Diamondbacks defeat the Cubs‚ 4-0‚ as Randy Johnson (5 innings)‚ Byung-Hyun Kim (3 innings)‚ and Bret Prinz (1 inning) combine on a one-hitter. Coomer's single off Big Unit is the only safety. The Cubs have now lost 8 in a row. Before tomorrow's game‚ Julio Zuleta will borrow a scene from the movie Major League and use a voodoo stick on the Cubs bats to instill hits. It works.

    Sep 20, 2000 - The Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks‚ 1-0‚ when Eric Karros hits a game-ending homer in the 9th off Byung-Hyun Kim. Karros is the only batter Kim faces.

    Jun 9, 1999 - Arizona defeats the Cubs‚ 8-7‚ as 1B Travis Lee gets 5 hits‚ including a double and triple. Diamondbacks P Byung-Hyun Kim is ejected from the game after a bandage containing heat balm flies out of his shirt sleeve. Kim claims he used such a bandage during games in Korea‚ but forgot to take it off when he entered the contest.

    May 29, 1999 - Arizona's Byung-Hyun Kim. 20-year-old Korean‚ makes his ML debut against the Mets‚ Relieving in the 9th‚ he strikes out Mike Piazza to end the game and preserve the 8-7 win.
