    Buddy Rosar

Rosar was a fine defensive catcher who played behind the Yankees' Bill Dickey for four years. Although he appeared in two World Series for the Yankees, he batted only once, producing a pinch-hit single in 1942. Traded to Cleveland after the 1942 season, he became an All-Star. In 1946 with the A's, he set the record for errorless games by a catcher, fielding 1.000 in 117 games. The next year he extended his perfect play to 147 games, second only to Yogi Berra's 148-game streak. (JK)
