    Bob Stinson

Nicknamed Scrap Iron because he played with pain, Stinson had been a reserve for eight ML years when, in 1977, he became the Mariners' first Opening Day catcher. The switch-hitter set an AL record the next year by reaching first six times on catcher's interference. (JCA)
