Fishel was Bill Veeck's publicity man at Cleveland and St. Louis, and was the man who signed midget Eddie Gaedel to a Browns contract. Later, he was promotion director for the Yankees for 20 years. At the time of his death, he was AL vice-president for public relations. An award named in his honor is given to the outstanding baseball publicist each year. (NLM)
