Keister holds the record for the lowest season fielding average for a shortstop in 100 or more games with a butterfingered .861 for Baltimore of the AL in 1901. In 114 games he made 97 errors. From 1898 through 1903 he hit .300 or better each season (and each with a different team), but even batting .320 in '03 could not keep him in the majors. (BC)
