May 12, 1951 - In the 2nd game of a double header‚ Stan Musial‚ on the Cards bench because he has flu‚ pinch hits in the 8th inning and blasts a 3-run homer into the RF stands at Crosley Field. Teammate Bill Howerton had earlier hit a 2-run pinch homer‚ only the 4th time in NL history that two pinch hitters have hit four-baggers (it will happen 4 more times in the 1950s). The Cards win 8-6‚ after dropping the opener‚ 7-2.
