    Jul 22, 2006 - Alfonso Soriano has three doubles and a triple to pace the Nationals to a 7-3 win over the Cubs. Soriano scores twice but is thrown out at the plate twice also. He joins Grady Sizemore of the Indians as the only players this season to be thrown out at the plate twice in a game; Sizemore was thrown out twice on May 9 by the Royals. Aramis Ramirez has a pair of homers for the Cubs.

    May 28, 2006 - After the Chicago Cubs rally for four runs in the 9th to tie, the Braves edge them, 13-12, in 11 innings. Atlanta hits a club record 8 homers in the victory at windy Wrigley Field as Marcus Giles, Edgar Renteria (2), Andruw Jones, Adam LaRoche (2), Ryan Langerhans, and Brayan Pena go deep. For the Cuban born Pena, it is his first ML homer. The Cubs, with no homers, bang out 16 hits, including 4 by Tony Womack, to hang in there before Giles’s single in the 11th scores the winner. The Braves are helped when Aramis Ramirez is hit in the head by a pop fly.

Chicago third baseman Aramis Ramirez‚ who inked a four-year $42 million contract this morning‚ is 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBIs. Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano gets tossed in the fifth inning.

    Oct 5, 2003 - The Cubs beat the Braves‚ 5-1‚ to win their first postseason series since 1908 and move on to the NLCS. Kerry Wood gets the win for Chicago while Aramis Ramirez hits a HR.

    Jul 22, 2003 - The Pirates send OF Kenny Lofton and 3B Aramis Ramirez to the Cubs in exchange for IF Jose Hernandez‚ P Matt Brulack‚ and a player to be named. Pittsburgh also sends pitchers Scott Sauerbeck and Mike Gonzalez to the Red Sox for pitchers Brandon Lyon and Anastacio Martinez.
